Louise Stewart is the CEO and Founder of ProjectPay, a multi-sided market platform that digitises the project payment process, guarantees small businesses and trade contractors are paid, fast, for the work they’ve done – because that’s the way it should be. Louise has had a 15 year career working in international business management for global technology companies prior to starting her first tech business in 2005. In 2014 she sold the business to one of Canada’s largest private company’s. She set up a building and development company for her own private investment projects and assisted her husband with his subcontracting business which led to her being asked to join the board of the Australian Subcontractors Association and became Chair of Subcontractors WA. After successfully lobbying governments for better payment protections for small businesses in the sector she resigned from her board positions to focus on ProjectPay. In 2018 she was awarded the NAWIC Innovation Award for ProjectPay. In 2020 she was selected by the UK government Global Entrepreneur program to setup ProjectPay in the UK. She is currently co-chair of industry led working group ReBuild Australia, leading the COVID19 response in making sure that small businesses in the supply chain get paid for the work they do to protect livelihoods and create jobs.
