Claire’s first association with NAWIC began in 1995 as a student member whilst completing her studies at The University of Melbourne in Bachelor of Planning and Design and Bachelor of Building. Claire has over 20 years’ experience in the Construction Industry and has worked in Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart for mid and top tier Builders; and in Client side project management. Claire is currently delivering an Asset Management Plan for a large organisation in the Aged Care Sector who operate five facilities State-wide. Claire is also the director of a small business, Green Wave Projects whose focus is to create residential dwellings that provide sustainable and efficient envelopes on a small footprint to address affordability and in reducing operating costs.
Claire is a passionate and energetic advocate for women in construction. As the new Treasurer to the Tas chapter, her objectives are to develop positive and supportive networks between likeminded women and construction colleagues in Tasmania and to raise awareness about the opportunities for women in the Construction Industry. To foster these objectives Claire will also develop and reinforce linkages with NAWIC Chapters and women in the Industry interstate.
