Australian Volunteers for International Development Program

Australian Volunteers for International Development provides skilled Australians with the opportunity to be a part of Australia’s aid program, through fully-funded and supported volunteer assignments in developing countries across Asia and the Pacific. Scope Global delivers the program in partnership on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 

Each month, over 90 volunteer roles are posted on our website in a range of sectors and countries, suiting a variety of skill levels. 

This month, we’re seeking a Construction Management Advisor to work with the Institute for Popular Democracy in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines for 10 months. 
IPD is a political research, advocacy and campaign organisation. This assignment will contribute to IPD’s Local Governance Program, an action research program on essential municipal services such as water, housing, health, employment, and livelihood development. As Construction Management Advisor you will focus on building of the capacity of IPD’s partner housing cooperatives and associations on housing project planning and monitoring and supervision of construction implementation. 

Your role will directly impact livelihood and employment opportunities for housing cooperatives and individual family members in resettlement communities. 

This assignment provides a fantastic professional development opportunity applicants working in construction management, civil engineering or project management to both apply and share their skills with those that need them most, in a fully-funded and supported Australian Government program. Applications close on the 21st of March, with the successful applicant departing in June 2016.
