NAWIC NSW | PROBUILD Greenland Centre Site Walk
NAWIC NSW | PROBUILD Greenland Centre Site Walk

Join us, together with Probuild for a fascinating site walk of the Greenland Centre Sydney, a 235 meter skyscraper due for completion in the 3rd quarter of 2020. We start with a presentation by the Probuild project team, explaining the challenges faced on the project to date and the complex design solutions that have been implemented. The walk will focus specifically on the building’s structure where the old building will meet the new.

Originally a brutalist building occupied by Sydney Water Board built in 1965, this old structure has been stripped back and new life has been injected into its strong bones. Currently sitting at Level 28, we have a recently completed 7m high transfer structure, sitting at 90m above Street level. This transfer structure, referred to as the Belt Truss, separates the low rise from the high rise and effectively transfers the load from the high rise (41 new levels) into the large existing structural steel columns and beams of the low rise encased in new reinforced concrete. This walk will give NAWIC members access to the team that have managed to bring the complexities of the belt truss design from its conception into reality - Building in the Sky

We will also have the opportunity to view some of the nearly completed high-end apartments reaching completion on the lower levels. The future high-rise will also have the unique and revolutionary "Sydney Balconies" allowing true indoor-outdoor connections with the glass-fronted balconies providing protection from wind and noise.

Due for completion in 2020, Greenland will be the tallest residential tower in Sydney’s CBD, the development will house 479 spectacular 1, 2 and 3 bedroom luxury apartments, plus stunning sub-penthouse and penthouse residences across 67 levels.

The building will also include retail tenancies, carparks and a creative hub as part of City of Sydney’s public domain works.

NAWIC and Probuild will be hosting a post-walk networking event at the Edinburgh Hotel directly across from the Project, and we welcome you to join us for drinks and food with the project team on hand to answer any questions you may have
