NAWIC NSW | YORK & GEORGE TOUR

YORK & GEORGE TOUR

Watpac is currently delivering this iconic 38 storey project which is situated in the heart of the Sydney CBD, between the heritage frontage of York St and retail frontage of George St. A mixed use development – with a 32 level high-end residential tower and a podium with retail and commercial tenancies. Designed by JWA and Group GSA as the Executive Architect, this highly complex project is an opportunity to gain insight into the challenges of working in a constrained CBD environment, within a heritage context, whilst collaboratively working adjacent to the light rail project being constructed on the project boundary along George St

The site tour will give you the opportunity to inspect the apartments and commercial and retail spaces within this exclusive CBD environment. The uniqueness of the vistas down George St will give you an indication of how George St is set to become the new leading boulevard of Sydney.

This project has been realised by Watpac’s team, having initially been engaged by Fife Capital under an ECI. This project required complex construction expertise to ensure delivery; the Watpac team enabled the early handover of the retail through the construction of an innovative cantilevered B-Class hoarding providing protection for the public.

Watpac will host networking drinks in their new Sydney Headquarters in Clarence St, providing the opportunity to speak with key personnel from the site team and Watpac.

Speakers included:

  • John Koerner, NSW State Manager, Watpac
  • Giovanni Polimeni, Senior Project Manager

Andrew Williams, Project Manager
Tyson Foley, General Foreman
