Paul Curnow, Partner, Baker & McKenzie Paul is a Partner with Baker & McKenzie’s Environment and Environmental Markets Practice. Paul is an environmental and projects lawyer with a diverse range of commercial law and environmental policy experience, specialising in the development of environmental markets and commodities.
His particular focus is advising on the legal aspects of carbon markets and emissions trading, including drafting emissions reduction purchase agreements for CDM project credits, EU allowances, NGACs and other species of credits. He also advises a range of carbon funds, as well as international organisations on aspects of the international climate change regime. Paul joined Baker & McKenzie in Sydney in 1998.
Paul took a three year leave of absence to work for the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) on international and domestic climate change policy. In this role, he represented the Australian Government at international climate change negotiations and managed a range of bilateral partnerships with countries such as the China, United States New Zealand, Japan and the European Union. |

Matthew Jessup, Principal, Lincolne Scott Matthew is a Principal of Lincolne Scott and Director in charge of Advanced Environmental (AE). He has led AE’s involvement on a number of benchmark ESD projects throughout Australia including 30 The Bond, the first major building in Australia to adopt passive chilled beams, Southern Cross Station, an iconic public transport facility which relies on natural ventilation for the entire concourse and City Central Tower in Adelaide, the largest building in Australia to receive a 5 star Green Star rating. Matthew has also led AE in their work with the GBCA developing energy tools for Offices, Shopping Centres, Education and Health facilities.
Matthew is a Green Star Accredited Professional and has presented a number of papers that look at creating sustainable and healthy workplaces. He has also co-authored a chapter of a book on sustainability in laboratories. |

Tony Costantino, Managing Director, Bovis Lend Lease Tony Costantino has worked for the Lend Lease group for the last 23 years. In this time he has been involved in some of Australia's most recognised developments in a number of roles from construction management to project management across numerous projects in many sectors
In 1999 Tony was appointed General Manager of the Commercial Business Unit of Bovis Lend Lease Australia.
In this role Tony created a business that leads Australia in the creation of innovative commercial building designs and workplaces that are the benchmark for Australia's owners and occupiers. He has had a direct hand in producing some of the country’s great commercial landmarks including Aurora Place and Deutsche Bank Building in Sydney.
Tony is well recognised in the industry and is often asked to provide commentary on the future of office and workplace design.
In 2004 Tony was appointed as Director of Bovis Lend Lease, Australia and recently has been appointed as Managing Director. |

Kate McCallum Kate has over 20 years professional experience, with 15 years in superannuation, investment, insurance and financial planning with leading Australian financial services organisations, including State Street, Commonwealth Bank and Westpac.
She has been responsible for managing superannuation and investment products and services for a range of clients, from large employer superannuation funds and investment managers to business owners and individual investors. Kate has focused in the past five years on the growing discipline of financial advice, which led her to establish with two other partners, Multiforte Financial Services. Multiforte has a distinctive offer – financial advice with no commissions, instead offering a professional flat fee for service.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), a Master of Commerce and is a qualified financial adviser.

Monique Alfris, Environmental Design Consultant, Advanced Environmental (Lincolne Scott) Monique Alfris has been working as an Environmental Design Consultant at Advanced Environmental, a specialist service of Lincolne Scott for 2 years. Monique's breadth of experience includes the new Melbourne Convention Centre, a mixed mode youth facility and an emissions trading research paper for the Green Building Council of Australia. Prior to joining Advanced Environmental, Monique published an environmental policy paper entitled “Energy Efficiency in NSW Schools”. This aimed to understand why NSW schools had been unsuccessful in meeting energy reduction targets set by the state government.
Monique served on the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star Residential Technical Working Group, and in 2007 won the Bovis Lend Lease Scholarship for Future Leaders from the NSW chapter of the National Association for Women in Construction. She is currently completing a Masters of Economics. |

Zena Clark, Sydney Branch Manager, Hill McGlynn Australia Zena Clark is the Sydney Branch Manager for the international specialist construction recruitment firm Hill McGlynn.
Zena graduated from Bristol University after studying for an undergraduate degree and Masters, she has worked in construction recruitment since 1999.
Joining Hill McGlynn in 2001, Zena worked her way through the ranks of Hill McGlynn’s largest office in London. In 2005 Zena transferred to Hill McGlynn Australia and was asked to become Branch Manager of the Sydney office. The Sydney team specialises in recruitment for all areas of the construction industry, from Architecture to hard dollar contracting.
Whilst Zena continues to take an active role in recruitment for her clients, the majority of her time centres on business development for the NSW, SA and ACT regions and management of the Sydney office. |

Robert Care, CEO, ARUP Robert joined Arup in 1977 in London. From that time until 1986 Robert worked in various Arup offices in Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and Australia. From 1986 to 1988 he was the Chief Engineer of the National Capital Development Commission (NCDC). Following the absorption of the NCDC into the ACT Government, in 1988, he established ACT Public Works and headed that organisation until January 1990. Following further appointments he became the Arup Group Knowledge Director in 2001 with global responsibility for achieving a step change in the way in which Arup uses their knowledge in service of their Clients. In 2004 Robert was appointed to his current role in Arup Australasia. |

Valerie Francis, Senior Lecturer, University of Melbourne Valerie is a senior lecturer in construction management at the University of Melbourne She is a civil engineer and worked for ten years in the private sector as a senior structural engineer and project manager prior to entering academia. Currently Valerie is researching issues relating to women’s participation and career progression in the built environment as well as issues relating to skills shortage and work-life balance in the construction industry. Valerie also has a Master of Applied Science (Project Management) and worked as a Research Fellow for five years on two large ARC projects investigating construction efficiency. |

Alison Hallahan, National President, NAWIC Alison Hallahan is Director of her own business, Capital Foresight Pty Ltd. She has held senior roles in several Victorian Government construction programs, including health, education and disability services. Her career includes operational, program and policy management roles in the Queensland and Victorian Governments. Since establishing her own business in 2003, Alison has provided service plans and business cases for hospital and other health service developments across Victoria. |

Lucy Turnbull, LLB (Sydney), MBA (UNSW) Lucy is a businesswoman and company director. She is a director of several companies including Pengana Holdings Limited. She was director and Chair of WebCentral from 2004-6 and is now a member of the board of Melbourne IT . For many years she worked as a solicitor and as an investment banker. She is a board member of the Redfern Waterloo Authority and on the Advisory Board with the Salvation Army.
From 1999 to 2004 Lucy was Sydney’s first female Lord Mayor (2003-4) and Deputy Lord Mayor (1999-2003). She served as a councillor on the City of Sydney from 1999-2004 and chaired many council committees, including the Central Sydney Planning Committee, the Planning, Transport and Development Committee and the Finance and Audit Committees.
Lucy has also been active in the not for profit sector and is currently Deputy Chair of the Committee for Sydney, and a member of the boards of the Centre for Independent Studies, the Woolcock Institute for Medical Research and the National Portrait Gallery. She is the Commissioner of the Australian Pavilion of the Venice Architecture Biennale. |
