Education

NAWIC Victoria Education Committee have challenged themselves to get out and talk to schools and young women about construction and related industries.  Our membership is made up of architects, engineers, project managers, landscape designers, lawyers and contract administrators, trades, etc.  It's important to us to share our passion and introduce construction to young individuals that are like-minded but just don't know about the industry.

National Engineering Week - NAWIC Road Show Presentation
On August 11th, Laurice Temple, President of NAWIC Victoria took her Construction presentation road show to Yarra Valley Grammar where she introduced the “world of construction” to year 2's and 3’s.   In her presentations to this age group she points out all the different people involved in construction like engineers, designers, architects, lawyers, project managers, just to name a few.

There were great discussions and many fantastic questions from all the kids in the four classes she spoke with.  Laurice hopes that these small efforts will help grow the industry and help entice young women into construction as well as men.
