If you are interested in becoming involved with the South Australian Chapter of NAWIC or you are looking for more information about the Chapter's activities please contact .  A limited number of positions are currently available for members interested in sitting on a committee.

The South Australian Chapter Council comprises the following members.

President

Karina Ellis / Cosoff Cudmore Knox
Sponsorship Committee Chair


Karina is a partner of Cosoff Cudmore Knox; a commercial law firm.  Karina has been practising law for 10 years after studying law and commerce at the University of Adelaide.  Karina assists clients in the resolution of complex construction disputes and by reviewing construction contracts and providing advice.

Karina enjoys her role with NAWIC as it allows her to meet and network with other women working in the construction industry.

Vice President

Alecia Wright / Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure
Events Committee Chair / Education Committee Chair



Alecia is a Project Manager with the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure.  Alecia has experience in major civil infrastrucutre construction and a Bachelor of Environmental Management.  Projects Alecia has worked on include the Bakewell Underpass, Port River Expressway and Northern Expressway.

Alecia believes NAWIC to be an important networking and support resource for women in construction and she is committed to improving women's participation in non-traditional roles


Treasurer

Kate Howie / Norman Disney & Young


Kate has been involved in the construction industry for over three years and is now with Norman Disney & Young.  After working in several other industries Kate has found construction to be exciting and challenging, especially in the arena of sustainability.  Kate has had excellent exposure to sustainable projects in Adelaide involvement with projects such as City Central Towers One and Two.

Kate finds being involved with the NAWIC SA Council in helping to improve the construction industry with greater participation of women to be most rewarding.  Kate has been most valuable to NAWIC since she joined and currently serves as the SA Treasurer


Secretary

Ellen McInerney / McConnell Dowel
2009 Awards for Excellence Chair




Ellen graduated with a Degree in Civil Engineering at Adelaide University and has worked in the construction industry for the past 9 years.  Ellen has worked as a Project Engineer on many projects including the contstruction of the Jacinth-Ambrosia Mine, the Common User Facility at Techport and the Bakewell Underpass Project.

Ellen enjoys the network and support receveid from being involved with NAWIC, and believes it is important to recognise the achievements of women in the construction industry



National Director

Katherine Lang / Candetti Constructions
Communications & Website Committee Chair / 2010 Awards for Excellence Chair

Katherine has a Degree in Construction Management and Economics and is a Contract Administrator with Candetti Constructions.  Katherine has worked in the private and public construction sector as a Site Engineer, Contract Administrator and Project Manager, and has been involved in the industry for over 8 years.

Katherine is a founding member of the SA Chapter of NAWIC and currently serves as both a National Director and National Vice President.
