ACT NAWIC MENTORING PROGRAM

Our Mentoring Program is intended to assist members with their career development. According to a recent Australian Institute of Management study, just over 50 per cent of university graduates in Australia are women, yet the executive ranks of the nation’s major companies contain less than 15 per cent of women. A number of initiatives are required to address this imbalance, one of which is effective mentoring. Mentoring allows the passing on not only of professional wisdom but also vital cultural knowledge.
If you are considering taking part in this Mentoring Program, please review the following documents. These guides will help you decide on the participation and/or will assist you in being an effective Mentor or Mentee. The program is open to both males and females.

WHAT IS MENTORING

Mentoring is a process where a more experienced person offers help, guidance, advice and support to facilitate the learning or development of another person. NAWIC requires that Mentors have at least 5 years industry experience.
