2007 NAWIC Qld Excellence Awards
Queensland’s construction girls showed they are a force to be reckoned with when the Queensland Chapter Awards was announced in a gala Presentation Dinner at Rydges South Bank on Friday 28 September. The night was a success all round with a sellout dinner and the awards also attracting record entries, particularly in the Young Achiever category.
Two girls from Leighton Contractors took out three of the nine award categories. Leighton’s scoop included NAWIC Qld’s highest acclaim – the Crystal Vision Award for advancing and furthering the interests of woman in the construction industry.
Queensland’s first ever plumbing inspector and a rising young star, Carlie Wright from Brisbane City Council also took out two award categories.
